Install Inc. is honored to announce their role as General Contractor to an upcoming project that will not only bring more revenue and growth to Siler City but will also bring hundreds of jobs back to the area improving the local economy.
Siler City was once home to the former Townsend Poultry Processing Plant that has now been closed for 5 years. Townsend was once a major employer, one of the city’s largest water users and taxpayers prior to its closing.
When the processing plant closed not only was the economy hurt but many employees lost their jobs, farmers lost revenue and contractors were left unpaid.
In May of 2016 Mountaire Farms entered into an agreement to acquire the former Townsend Poultry Processing Plant and the adjoining property in Siler City for a disclosed $100-million-dollar expansion that will include the construction of a feed mill and the renovation of the Mt. Vernon Hatchery.
In a separate article dated May 5th 2016 Mountaire Farms President & CEO Paul Downs is quoted saying “Mountaire Farms has a long tradition of producing high quality poultry products for our domestic and international customers. The increasing demand for our products requires us to expand our production and we believe North Carolina is the perfect place for that growth.”
Mountaire Farms said they would also seek to establish relationships with local chicken farmers and grain suppliers for this expansion.
“The additions and expansions in Siler City will benefit so many within not only the city but the county & state as well,” said Anson O Harrington, Owner & CEO of Install Inc. “Install Inc. is grateful for the long-standing relationship with Mountaire Farms and the opportunity to be a part of this project within our area.”
